I ALWAYS SPEND NEW YEARS EVE ALONE AND USE IT AS A TIME FOR REFLECTION AND SELF. ASSESSING THE OLD YEAR AND WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD IN THE NEW. SO HERE IS A LITTLE EXERCISE FOR YOUR OWN SELF REFLECTION.
I AM CONSTANTLY SURPRISED BY HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE NOT TAKEN TIME TO GET TO KNOW THEMSELVES. IF I ASK THEM QUESTIONS ABOUT THEIR INNERMOST THOUGHTS THEY DO NOT KNOW THE ANSWERS. MORE SURPRISINGLY EVEN IF I ASK QUITE BASIC QUESTIONS E.G THEIR FAVOURITE FILM OR CHILDHOOD MEMORY MANY HAVE NEVER GIVEN IT A THOUGHT !
SO TODAY THIS IS A TWO PART TASK.
SIT DOWN NAKED IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR AND STUDY YOUR FACE AND BODY (OBVIOUSLY AT HOME ALONE, NOT IN THE OFFICE !) . REALLY FOCUS ON ALL THE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR FACIAL FEATURES, YOUR EYES, LIPS EVEN THE LINES YOU HAVE HAD FUN IN EARNING. PARTS OF YOUR BODY YOU LOVE AND THE MIRACLES THAT OCCUR EVERY DAY WITHIN THAT BODY AND OUR LARGELY NEGLECTED FEET THAT SUPPORT US EVERYDAY. PLEASE KEEP THIS POSITIVE AND LEARN TO APPRECIATE……YOU. MANY PEOPLE HAVE NEVER DONE THIS EXERCISE BECAUSE OF LACK OF YOU TIME OR EMBARRASSMENT BUT LEARN TO BE COMFORTABLE ……WITH YOU !

THIS IS SUCH AN INTERESTING EXERCISE AND YOU ALMOST FEEL CLOSER TO YOURSELF. BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND. GETTING TO KNOW ‘YOU’ IS A GREAT TOOL FOR STRENGTHENING YOUR MENTAL HEALTH FORMING A DEEPER BOND WITH ONESELF.

Grab a coffee and sit in a pavement cafe and just watch people walking by and going about life. Everyone has their own stories . Construct their stories in your own head. Their fears, their insecurities, financial difficulties, their strengths, what makes them laugh, when they last cried. are they happy with themselves, with life. Their battles and their victories. Backgrounds and professions.
This can really change the way you look at others and understand we are all pretty much the same and we all want the same things from lives and face similar challenges.
I feel this weeks lesson is very important in the current political climate when we all seem so angry with people that we do not know and we all actually want the same outcome.
Lets be more forgiving .

DANCE LIKE NO ONES WATCHING
I am a trained Sound Therapist with my own practice. The vibrational power of sound has an unbelievable effect on our health and well being. I am sure we have all experienced the influence of music on our moods. To lift us to relax us , to alter the dopamine in our brains.
Today find some music you love and move to it. This can take the form of energetic dancing to revive your spirits or gentle swaying to relax the body and reduce anxiety.
Be it in the car, on your way to work, in the office or at home ! Turn it up and get moving. Sing out loud too if you want to, although probably not a good idea if you are actually in the office with other people.
What we really need right now is a good sing at the top of our voices. I promise you it will change the way you feel immediately. An instant fix.
