There can be no dispute over this one. AMAZON delivered EVERY product I could possibly need and usually in 48 hours. Easy return collection and refund. Always has been a good service but the team and the fantastic delivery couriers rose to the increased demand effortlessly. where would we be without you. Happy for you to pay less tax as you are investing it far more wisely than our Government could to make many peoples lives easier.

Okay so I may be a little late to the party but I discovered EVE LOMS RESCUE PEEL PADS. (£60 for 2 months supply) Using the Lockdown to invest and refresh my skin care routine I use these pads every night to resurface the skin with BH,PHA and AHA gentle acids. a non abrasive approach to exfoliation.It really makes a difference I swear I looked 10 years younger after just one day!!

There has been no place like HOME in 2020. My home has become very Hygge (look it up !) We have all been on a home improvement drive in 2020 to make our homes more comforting and stylish and I have to confess I love being at home and have become somewhat institutionalised.

HARK THE SOCIAL DISTANC- SING

With the new relaxed rules for Christmas many of you I hope will have an enjoyable Christmas. I have chosen to remain in my Christmas bubble with only one other person to minimise the risk of spreading this terrible infection to members of my family and beyond. So I will be doing lots of self gifting this Christmas and wrapping them all and putting them under the tree and cooking a couple of turkey breast wrapped in bacon and stuffed with sausage meat. It can be done … and still fun.

So heres a few of my Christmas wishes which I know will come true as they are already on order ! HO HO HO !

Essential for my new years workout routine ( we all have one of those don’t we). I just love the bright rainbow colours which means it goes with any legging depending on the mood !

FUSALP SKI JACKET

My ski jacket of choice for this winter. If of course I ever get a skiing trip in before April. Never mind i will wear it around the streets of London as i have been known to wear my Killy ski suit when it gets really cold ( oh er and my moonboots) well we can pretend its Verbier stylistas………cant we…….please. I do love a ski outfit !

Well i still want to dress up on Christmas day !!! This is a classic and will do the delayed party season thats happening at Easter or even next Christmas (surely we have seen the pandemic off by then). Eternally chic , an investment piece!

As we are restricted in our social activities currently our monthly STYLE LIST has been reduced to bi monthly. As all that feature on a STYLE LIST have been tried and tested. So lets see who made the August/ September STYLE LIST.

MOST STYLISH HOTEL

Well for regular followers you would have read my travel blog on Lake Como this month and one of the most stylish Hotels I have ever stayed in. The newly opened MANDARIN HOTEL in Blevio, Lake Como takes style to a whole new level. Unpretentious yet exuding quality in both service and decor. Exceptionally peaceful and restful , although Covid restrictions and guest levels (staff ratio of about 10:1) may have had something to do with this. If you are visiting Como there is only one place to stay, the new girl on the block this truly wonderful Hotel.

MOST STYLISH RESTAURANT

From dining out five times a week to almost zero has severely restricted my pool to choose from. Also hard to guage how stylish a restaurant is under present conditions so almost no restaurant living up to our high standards of the STYLE LIST. So back to Como for this one. Although still difficult to find a really super stylish restaurant in Como I managed to locate one that is well worth a visit. Set in the small village of TORNO the family owned restaurant VAPORE excelled on all levels. Situated on the edge of the lake this was picture postcard perfect, like the movies you have played over in your head. Fresh fish from the lake and cooked to perfection and the best Tiramisu. Dreamy views just add to the attraction. I am pleased to share this little gem I have discovered off the main road into this fabulous little village.

The most talked about fashion accessory of the moment HAS to be the face mask. Going to be with us for longer than we thought has now become a fashion staple. So it is time for some style injection. JAY SHETTY has kept me sane and chilled over the last 6 months. Discovered him on youtube with more time on my hands. We share the same philosophy and outlook and our teachings are almost identical. A former monk he now is a motivational speaker on how to think like a monk …. without joining a monastery ! Like myself he believes in discovering daily rituals to bring you peace and resisting temptation on activities that add nothing to your life. Find your truest most authentic self by spending time on getting to know YOU. This is what I have been preaching for many years before Jay had started kindergarten but happy to have him on my bandwagon. Welcome Jay to the team, happy to have you on board ! Undoubtedly the biggest beauty dilemma has been hair colour and root coverage. We will never take our hairdressers for granted again. Coronavirus has seen the death of so many blondes ! With this in mind our hair hero product must be MAGIC RETOUCH. Which I personally could not have lived without a quick spray on my roots and lasting until the next wash. Perfect. I certainly would not have been brave enough to attempt to dye my own hair and was strongly advised by my Hairdresser NOT to touch it under ANY circumstances.

Where would we be without Amazon ! Everything I needed I could get on Amazon with very little wait on delivery times. Even toilet rolls !!! The one time there was a slight delay (4 day wait) Amazon issued a gift voucher. Outstanding service and decide to be on the Style List for keeping us in beauty and pamper products as well as food when the big Supermarkets failed us. Amazon keep us much tax as you want if it allows you to continuously improve your business and make our lives a lot easier. You were with us every step of the way.

The stand out show of the lockdown that had all my friends and neighbours thoroughly addicted was the NETFLIX Show ‘MONEY HEIST’. A hugely successful show which made stars out of its Spanish cast. It is a must watch but be warned you WILL become addicted. This was something to look forward to every evening to escape Coronavirus news and nothing much else on TV. Don’t miss out !

Well girls come on the new fashion trend that everyone is wearing has to be THE SURGICAL MASK. Worn correctly covering both the nose and mouth and changed regularly. OK SO THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL HOTEL THIS MONTH BUT THE PALAZZO PISANI MORETTA IS A SPECTACULAR VENUE. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO ATTEND THE TIEPOLO BALL AT THE VENICE CARNIVALE THIS MONTH AND THIS VENUE WAS LIKE A DREAM. CHANDELIERS WITH REAL LIT CANDLES, GRAND MASTERPIECES, LOCATED ON THE GRAND CANAL. ARRIVING BY WATER TAXI TO SEE THIS STUNNINGLY STYLISH PALAZZO TO BE GREETED BY PHANTOM OF THE OPERA CHARACTERS , A GLOSSY MAGAZINE COME TO LIFE.

WELL FOLLOWING ON FROM THE ABOVE OBVIOUSLY THIS MONTH I AM GOING TO SELECT ONE OF THE MANY OPTIONS IN VENICE. BUT YOU MAY EXPECT ME TO MENTION THE GRITTI OR THE CIPRIANI BUT THE BEST LUNCH THIS VISIT HANDS DOWN WAS THE LESSER KNOWN HOTEL MONACO. LOCATED BETWEEN THE GRITTI AND HARRYS BAR RIGHT ON THE GRAND CANAL WITH SUPERB VIEWS. I SELECTED THE SEA BASS ON CELERIAC PUREE (34 EUROS) AND ‘THE BODYGUARD’ CHOSE LANGOUSTINES WITH POLENTA (36 EUROS). THE SETTING, VALUE FOR MONEY COMPARED TO ITS MORE EXPENSIVE NEIGHBOURS, AND CLOSE PROXIMITY TO ST MARKS SQUARE WON MY VOTE THIS MONTH.

THE SURROUNDINGS ARE UTOPIAN WITH THE PRISTINE TALL SKY SCRAPERS AS WAS THE RESTAURANT DESIGN. SUPREMELY STYLISH AND CUISINE CONTINUES TO IMPRESS WITH ITS CONSISTENT PERFECTION. THIS FABULOUS RESTAURANT IN PAVILION RD CHELSEA CONTINUES TO IMPRESS. IT IS EFORTLESSLY COOL AND THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING. WITH THE 2018 MASTERCHEF (THE PROFESSIONALS) FINALIST LUKE PHILLIPS AT THE HELM EVEN THE SIMPLEST BEETROOT AND GOATS CHEESE SALAD IS TRANSFORMED INTO A CULINARY DELIGHT. THE BEST (PRE CHRISTMAS) CHRISTMAS LUNCH I HAD….HANDS DOWN. I HAVE KEPT COMING BACK. SO CONSISTENTLY BRILLIANT I KEEP RETURNING. IM SCARED TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT IN CASE I CAN NO LONGER GET A TABLE !

OH AND GREAT FOR LUNCH THE CLAM RISOTTO WAS HEAVENLY AND ‘THE BODYGUARD’ HAD THE SCALLOPS AND BLACK COD….EQUALLY GOOD (HE LET ME SHARE )

THE DRESS BY FIJOLLA NILA WAS TO DIE FOR AND SHE EXECUTED THE LOOK PERFECTLY. MAURA YOU CERTAINLY SHOWED ALL THOSE A LIST CELEBRITIES HOW TO PULL A RED CARPET LOOK OUT OF THE BAG. SIMPLY STUNNING. LOVED IT.

EDEN ROCK ST BARTHS

Bringing you the best tried and tested hotels ! This is where I spent my pre Christmas break and I intend to return at the earliest opportunity. The island itself is by far the most beautiful and wealthiest of the Carribean, owned by the french and has all the pizzazz (is this word still used ?) of the South of France. Eden Rock itself has the best location on the Island in a calm turquoise bay and sandy beach. Great beachside dining, and lovely beachside bungalows. Uber cool and super stylish yet laid back enough not to take itself too seriously.

Who else could win this category this December. Always positive, brings great pressies and wears such a stylish outfit . I was lucky enough to meet him this December he is actually impeccably mannered too !

I know this was on many of your christmas wish lists and I was lucky enough to be granted one. I will be honest at the time of writing I have not used it so i cannot comment on the amazing claims . Prevents heat damage with advanced technology, cuts drying times and restores shine. But for pure style the product looks divine and if it lives up to its claims which I hope it does for £300 I will be very happy. Will keep you all posted on this one !

THE RITZ, LONDON

Well I have had a very busy December but even though I visit this Hotel regularly throughout the year there is a magic about the Ritz at Christmas. It is everything Christmas should be even in your own imagination. We attended Live At The Ritz an extravagant night of Dinner, dancing and big band sounds. Truly enchanting. The epitome of style……as ever.

WINTER WHITES

Okay girls we have had sequins, feathers, velvets and satins this season but December going into January is all about the winter whites. These are not bright cool whites but warmer creams and off whites. Pull it all together with different tones maybe a camel or taupe thrown into the mix. Or all cream with a beautifully tailored camel coat for outerwear. There is winter white everywhere in the stores right now pick some up in the sales as it tends to look not so glamorous after a few washes.

THE BILTMORE HOTEL , LONDON

This recently opened Hotel in September this year after two years of renovations , now getting into its stride it has now made it onto the Style List after my recent visit. This is a little gem in the heart of Mayfair located in Grosvenor Square a stones throw from Claridges and the fabulous New Bond Street shopping. Jason Atherton overseeing the cuisine in Betterment the Hotels rather lovely and spacious restaurant and an equally sumptuous bar – The Pine Bar. Stylishly cool and still largely still undiscovered the quietness added to the overstated elegance. From £400 ppp night.

MOST STYLISH RESTAURANT

SCOTTS, MAYFAIR

A frequent visitor to SCOTTS in Mayfair it is consistent in both food and service. At this time of year it is particularly stylish with the most beautiful christmas decorations of any restaurant I know. I tend to go for my favourite fish, Skate with shrimp and an ice cold glass of Chablis and this week was once again exceptional. Super classy and I could put it on the Style List every month but at this time of year it is especially so exudes christmas from a Hollywood film set.

TERRY O NEILL

This must go to the lovely TERRY O NEILL whom I was lucky to meet on a few occasions, we had the greatest conversations and invariably ended up in LUIGIS Deli on of Terrys favourite places for great Italien food. His death this month was no surprise as he had been ill for some time but I hoped he would make one more Christmas. Terry s exhibition at the Iconic Gallery Chelsea makes you realise what an amazing stylish and exciting life he led for someone so normal and unassuming. A truly talented photographer and a wonderful man. You will be missed. Legend.

OK , so everything about TOM FORD is stylish and my followers will know that im a MASSIVE fan of all things TF (even his films). But put this on your christmas list ! I love ‘Flicker’ it is for darker skin but i find it works well on mine as I use the darker colour for contouring and the gold for highlighting. The sleek platte with mirror – perfect for touch ups during the evening and great for the party season ! I apologise if this has made a previous Style List but just needs to be on repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Following his knighthood this month , the inventor of TUNNOCKS TEACAKES cannot be left off this months Style List. Along with the Queen this is my treat of choice . Satisfying yet calorie light (105calories) light fluffy marsmallow on a biscuit base covered in a thin layer of chocolate it is enough. Beautifully wrapped in that iconic red and silver foil. The TUNNOCKS CARAMEL WAFER cannot go unnoticed.

Located on the corner of Sunset Blvd and Doheny Drive. LA at its finest uber cool and super stylish. The Edition brand was conceived and the space designed by Ian Schrager in conjunction with Marriott with hip hotels in London, New York, Barcelona,Miami but new hotels planned for Asia. Now open for business in the last few weeks be one of the first to stay in this flagship West Coast Hotel.

I was lucky enough to receive this in a goody bag (full sized) at the launch of the new MEDISPA at Harvey Nichols in September. I am hooked , visibly plumping and firming. Stylish packaging. Scientifically proven range of aesthetic products winning global awards and recognition. I personally had not heard of them prior to the event but I will definitely be buying more for £60 ! Love to share these beauty finds with you i’m extra critical of false promises but equally like to tell you when I find a good one. Try it yourself and let me know what you think.

I was lucky enough to attend Nicholas Coleridge soiree at the V&A Museum of which he is Chairman as well as still the current chairman of Conde Nast magazine. The evening was to promote his new book THE GLOSSY YEARS of which I can firmly say is a hoot of a read. An insight into the world of style, it is a book to get really lost in. The man himself an epitome of style and very charming in that old Etonian spirit. Both book and person win the style award for October.

NAVY

This season instead of opting for black as the nights draw in try substituting it for navy. Navy always looks more expensive opt for a little navy dress instead of a little black dress. There is a return to more ladylike dressing of a bygone era especially for our age group. It is time to get sophisticated again and I always think of navy as being one of the most sophisticated of colours especially teamed with pearls . Choose the palette of navy to suit your colouring, of course.

JUDY

Well this one wins hands down for style. The bio pic of Judy Garland as portrayed by the wonderful Renee Zellweger. Whatever you thought of the film it was indeed very glamorous and indulgent perfect for a rainy afternoon at the cinema followed by cocktails at The Ritz. This film made me want to back to that era so wesat at the bar drinking champage from saucer shaped glasses and drinking Aviation cocktails.

WHATS NOT HOT……..

HUSTLERS

The week before we saw this Jennifer Lopez movie in contrast was an utter pile of tripe. Naive and cliched and over acted with a shallow script, and I say this as a J-Lo fan. 1/10.

FOR £150 PP YOU ARRIVE AT 12.30 TO ENJOY BOTTOMLESS COCKTAILS AND CANAPES IN THE PISCO BAR AND LOUNGE. A DJ ENTERTAINS. WHEN YOU ARE READY TO HEAD INTO THE RESTAURANT YOU ARE MET WITH LIVE MUSICIANS AND THE RENOWNED PERUVIAN FOOD. A COMPLETELY IMMERSIVE AND SUPREMELY COOL AND STYLISH EVENT.
