MANY OF US CONCENTRATE ON WORKING OUT THE BODY BUT IT IS JUST AS IMPORTANT TO EXERCISE THE MIND TO KEEP IT STRONG AND HEALTHY. SO THIS WEEK I WANT YOU TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW. THINK ABOUT A SKILL OR KNOWLEDGE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACQUIRE. WE ARE ALL AWAITING OUR JABS IN THE ARM, THINK OF THIS AS A JAB FOR YOUR MIND!!!   • PIANO LESSONS. I HAVE GONE FROM BEGINNER TO ADVANCED DURING ‘ LOCKDOWN2020’ WITH THE HELP FROM AN APP “SIMPLY PIANO” . I CAN DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS APP IT IS ADDICTIVE AND REALLY HAS RE ESTABLISHED MY LOVE FOR PIANO IT IS MY FAVOURITE HOUR OF THE DAY. SO LEARN AN INSTRUMENT, STUDIES HAVE SHOWN IT HAS A HUGE VALUE ON MENTAL CAPACITY.
  • PHOTOGRAPHIC COURSE. THERE ARE MANY FREE COURSES ON LINE. I AM STUDYING WITH EOS ONLINE. THIS ALSO ENCOURAGES ME TO GET OUT IN THE FRESH AIR WALKING WITH MY CAMERA TO PUT WHAT I HAVE LEARNED INTO PRACTICE.

DISCOVER YOUR INNER LIGHT

WHAT FEELS BETTER LIGHTNESS OR DARKNESS ? SUNSHINE OR CLOUD ? WEDDINGS OR FUNERALS ? LAUGHTER OR SORROW ?

WE ALL NEED TO LET MORE LIGHT INTO OUR LIVES. WE ALL WILL EXPERIENCE PERIODS OF DARKNESS IN OUR LIVES BUT IT IS IMPORTANT TO FIGHT BACK TO DELIVER MORE LIGHT TO OUR MINDS AND BODIES. LET US NOT JUST TRY TO ACHIEVE BALANCE BUT LET THE LIGHT ALWAYS TIP THE SCALES TOWARDS JOY AND BEAUTY. THIS REQUIRES EFFORT. TRULY HAPPY PEOPLE WORK AT IT.

THESE TIMES ARE SO DIFFICULT BUT ALSO AFFORD US SOME TIME TO REALLY WORK ON UPPING OUR HAPPINESS QUOTA. CREATING A REGIME TO PRACTISE LONG AFTER THE VIRUS HAS BEEN CONQUERED.

SO HOW DO WE BRING AS MUCH LIGHT IN AS POSSIBLE DURING LOCKDOWN. HERE ARE A FEW SIMPLE TIPS YOU CAN DO DAILY.

  • WE ARE OBVIOUSLY SPENDING MORE TIME INDOORS. GET OUTSIDE AT LEAST ONCE A DAY TO SOAK UP NATURAL LIGHT (VITAMIN D) AND FRESH AIR. GO FOR A BRISK WALK IN A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. LOCALLY (ABIDE BY THE CURRENT RULES). ALL OF US NEVER FEEL LIKE EXERCISING BUT PUSH YOURSELF WHEN YOU GET HOME YOU WILL BE VERY GLAD YOU DID. NO ONE EVER REGRETS EXERCISE.
  • IF YOU REALLY ARE ANXIOUS ABOUT GOING ANYWHERE THEN JUST GO INTO YOUR GARDEN OR SPACE BY YOUR HOME AND ROOT YOURSELF TO THE EARTH STRETCH YOUR HANDS UP TO THE SKY AND LET THE LIGHT FILL YOUR BODY.
  • BREATHE. EVEN INDOORS YOU CAN PRACTISE WITH THE BREATH. BREATHE IN THE LIGHT THROUGH YOUR BODY AND EXPEL THE DARK STALE AIR. REPEAT SEVERAL TIMES WITH LONG SLOW BREATHS. AS YOU EHALE BREATHE OUT EVERY LAST DROP OF STALE AIR. READ MY ARTICLE ON THIS BLOG ABOUT THE HAPPY BUDDHA MEDITATION. A MEDITATION THAT TAKES 5 MINUTES EVERY MORNING FILLING YOUR BODY WITH LIGHT AND ENSURES A CALM PEACEFUL MOOD FOR THE ENTIRE DAY !
  • LONGER MEDITATION IS SO IMPORTANT. BUT RIGHT NOW AS YOU MEDITATE TAKE YOURSELF ON HOLIDAY AND FEEL THE HEAT ON YOUR BODY AS YOU BATHE IN THE SUNLIGHT. WE ARE ALL MISSING OUR HOLIDAYS RIGHT NOW. SO WHO WOULDNT WANT TO TAKE THEMSELVES AWAY FOR 30 MINS EVERY DAY.
  • VITAMIN D MOUTH SPRAY. OUR BODIES CREATE VITAMIN D FROM THE SUNLIGHT. BUT AS WE HAVE BEEN INDOORS FOR MOST OF THE YEAR MANY OF US WILL BE DEFICIENT. MOUTH SPRAYS ARE NOW SEEN AS A FAR MORE EFFECTIVE WAY OF GETTING VITAMINS INTO YOUR BODY AS IT DOES NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM. THE MOUTH HAS LARGER CAPILLARIES PARTICULARLY THE BACK OF THE TONGUE FOR FASTER AND MORE EFFECTIVE ABSORPTION. VIT D FOODS INCLUDE EGG YOLKS, OILY FISH AND RED MEAT.
  • EAT GREEN. MOST GREEN PLANT BASED FOODS CONTAIN CHLOROPHYLL THAT ABSORBS THE SUNSHINE. SO I LIKE TO THINK I AM EATING THE SUNSHINE.
  • WEAR SOMETHING BRIGHT AND SUNNY. VISUALS CAN LIGHT US UP TOO. WEAR SOME YELLOWS, ORANGE AND TURQUOISE. WILL NOT ONLY UPLIFT YOU BUT UPLIFT THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU.
  • SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE ( IN YOUR BUBBLE OF COURSE) THAT ARE SUNNY AND POSITIVE. TOXIC PEOPLE WILL DRAIN YOUR LIGHT. EVEN ON ZOOM CALLS A VIBRANT FRIEND CAN LIGHT YO UP.

MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL…………. I am going to ease you gently into 2021 as after all it has been a tough year and an even tougher Christmas period.

So as it is the time of Year for renewals and clear outs , all I want you to do is take a good long look at yourself in the mirror. Really look at that person and acknowledge all your hopes and fears, the challenges you faced in 2020 and maybe continue to face.

Now think about the improvements you want to make this year FOR YOU! Not for everyone else , not for the world. not because society dictates who you should be.

How can I be happier ?

How can I feel happier ?

How can I look better ?

How can I improve my life to bring about positivity ?

What steps do I need to get me there?

Write all the thoughts that come to you , however random and jot them into your Midweek mantra Journal. From this period of self reflection some goals will be organically defined and not forced. Do it today !
